how do I attach the tray table?

There's a knack to it — and once you've got it, it's easy every time! Here's the best way to mount the tray table:

  1. Key it in at the bottom first, then rotate it up and onto the seat
  2. If it feels stiff, give the foam on top a gentle squeeze while you rotate it on — this makes it glide on much more smoothly

Why is it a snug fit? This one was a deliberate design decision. We wanted to make absolutely sure the tray table couldn't accidentally come off during use — baby's safety had to come first. It means it takes a little more effort to mount, but once it's on, it's on securely.

can I carry the floor seat one-handed?

We get it — when you've got a baby on your hip, one hand is all you've got! The seat is designed with baby's safety and correct hip positioning as the priority, but we've got you covered for carrying. Here are three easy ways to manage it one-handed:

  1. By the seat belts — grab and go
  2. Using the booster strap — clip it in and sling it over your shoulder like a bag (check our socials for a pic of this in action!)
  3. By the tray — a quick and easy option when you're on the move

A little practice and it becomes second nature — promise!

what age can I use the floor seat until?

The age range on our seat is a guide, not a hard limit! Every baby is different — size, development, and how they're sitting all play a role in whether the seat is the right fit at any given stage.

We recently had a two-year-old try it out and they fit in it perfectly. So don't let the numbers put you off — the seat is designed to grow with your little one for longer than you might expect.

If you're unsure whether it's right for your baby's age and stage, just reach out and we'll help you figure it out personally. We'd rather you feel completely confident in your purchase than guess!

why does the floor seat cost $350 AUD?

We get it — it's not an impulse buy. But here's what's behind the price:

2 years of development
This seat didn't exist before we made it. We started from scratch, consulting with physiotherapists to get the hip positioning exactly right, and had to design and manufacture a custom mould specifically for this product. That's a significant upfront investment for a small Australian brand.

Premium materials, chosen for a reason
We deliberately chose rubberwood over plastic for the tray — it's more stable, more durable, and better quality. The tray is reinforced with a powder-coated aluminium bracket so it won't rust, warp, or let you down over time. These aren't cheap materials, but they're the right ones for a product your baby sits in every day.

Two products in one
The hip & co seat works as both a floor seat and a booster seat — so you're not buying a single-use product that gets outgrown quickly. It adapts as your baby grows, making it genuinely multi-functional and even better value over time.

Small batch production
We're not a mass manufacturer churning out thousands of units. Small batch production means tighter quality control, but it also means lower volume to spread costs across.

There is nothing else like it on the market
This isn't a premium version of something you could buy cheaper elsewhere — it's genuinely the only product of its kind designed specifically with baby hip health in mind.

For a seat your little one will use daily from 5 months, it works out to be a very small cost per use.
